I see it as my role to help you pause and reflect, and challenge the schemas that may be keeping you stuck in undesired patterns of behavior. While therapy is serious work, its also important to laugh at the absurd moments and try to enjoy the journey as we walk it together. If you're struggling in your relationships, feeling unheard or confused, reeling from a traumatic event or history, or experiencing a loss, we can work through these issues at your pace. I use cognitive behavioral strategies mixed with brain & body education so my patients have a better understanding of how and why they may react to things in life that seem automatic and how they can take charge and re-direct these unhelpful reactions to feel more successful in life. Not only am I a licensed therapist, I am a certified anger management and domestic violence specialist as well as a licensed alcohol and drug counselor. I have worked in residential, outpatient, and forensic settings with a variety of men and women with different backgrounds and goals. Additionally, I am EMDR trained. Anger is a natural emotion that is unavoidable, so is sadness, and worry. During my sessions we will create a plan to deal with these unpleasant feelings and re-capture the strengths and skills you once had, and discover new ones!
