Recent Updates From Abbie Quinby
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
As a person-centered therapist, I believe there is potential to help anyone interested in working with me regardless of their reasons for coming to therapy. That being said, I enjoy working with folks who struggle with anxiety, gender and sexual identities, neurodivergence, self-concept or self-worth, complex and religious trauma, relationship issues, and grief. I am an LGBTQIA+ and relationship-affirming therapist and I'm very passionate about working with people in marginalized groups. I believe that everyone needs a therapist who can listen with compassion and understanding.
In our sessions I will try my best to embody the person-centered ideal of being a “fellow traveler” rather than an expert or teacher. I love learning about others' perspectives and enjoy having deep, existential conversations. My intention is to create a safe space for you to share your highs, lows, and everything in between.
I am passionate about social justice and identify as a feminist and atheist. I enjoy conversations exploring the impact of systemic oppression, capitalism, and the patriarchy in our daily lives. Together we will seek to find insight into who you are because I believe that this can lead to powerful change.
