Traumatic experiences exact a heavy toll, and not just in the moment. Symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex PTSD (CPTSD) can last for weeks, months, even years after the event. I would be honored to walk the path of healing with you, supporting you as you reclaim your vitality and establish a genuine sense of connection with yourself, others, your body, and your soul. While my therapeutic approach is eclectic, Somatic Experiencing is foundational to my work. SE is a body-oriented and naturalistic approach to the resolution and healing of trauma, developed by Dr. Peter Levine.
By supporting you to connect with your body and develop trust in its innate capacity to heal, we can access and address the trauma that lingers in your nervous system. This allows you to work through painful feelings of anger, guilt, or shame, as well as somatic symptoms like headaches, chronic pain, digestive distress, and sleep difficulties.
My clients have included adults abused as children, domestic and sexual violence survivors, veterans, first responders, those leaving high-control groups, incarcerated offenders, and LGBTQ+ people, among others. It takes a great deal of courage to reach out for help; for that, I commend you. I look forward to partnering with you on your healing journey.
