Recent Updates From Babette Reeves
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
People often ask why I work with people affected by trauma. Why? Because I am passionate about the lifelong impacts of undiagnosed and untreated trauma on a person’s life. I am also passionate about the resilience of people and their ability to heal when proper care is provided and barriers are removed. Trauma is treatable, and no one need be “stuck” with its long-term aftereffects. We can heal from trauma, and it would be a privilege to work with you on your healing journey. Finally, building safety, trust, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do in our work together. And you are always in the lead.
Like many therapists, I use a variety of therapies to help clients reach their goals, whether trauma related or not. I am also trained in two trauma-specific therapies: Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST), developed by Dr. Janina Fisher, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, developed by Dr. Pat Ogden.
Finally, building safety, trust, and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do in our work together. And you are always in the lead. My office is conveniently located on the east side of Hillsboro, near Intel, Nike, and Beaverton. It is 4 miles off Highway 26 and 2 blocks from the bus line. Parking is free and plentiful.
