As we move through life we tell ourselves stories. Stories about who we are and who we think we “should” be; where we come from and where we want to go. Stories about our relationships and our place in this world. As a therapist, my goal is to help you tell your story, to look at it from different perspectives, and change it as you see fit. I take a systems-based approach, acknowledging the importance of how you are impacted by the familial, societal, economic, and political systems your story takes place in. Our mental health does not exist in a vacuum, and how these systems interact play an important role.
Building trust and connection in the therapy space is an essential component of our work together. My approach is person-centered and eclectic, drawing on a variety of therapeutic orientations to meet you where you are. My practice is rooted in Mindful Self-Compassion, the power of the nervous system, and the importance of value-based decision making.
Whether you are struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship concerns, trauma or other mental health challenges, as Maya Angelou said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” My hope is to provide a safe and confidential space in which you can begin to write your story of healing.
