Recent Updates From Chelsi Moravetz
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
I began my journey as a therapist first by seeking work as a teacher. I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Sciences in 2013, which led me to work as a preschool teacher until 2017. Working with families in this capacity made me see just how much need there is for therapists who work from a systemic perspective. It was this that compelled me to enroll at Capella University, from which I earned a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2022
I became an LMFTA because families and relationships of all structures are valid and able to bring joy and fulfillment. My goal as a therapist is to work with my clients to discover and utilize the unique strengths of their family and use them to come closer to their ideal dynamic. I do this drawing primarily from narrative, solution-focused, and DBT.
As someone who has also served sex and gender minority communities for over a decade, I have a passion for this population in particular. This includes the LGBTQ+, polyamorous, kink, and sex worker communities. I served as a board member for the Human Dignity Coalition for several years and am currently in the process of earning my AASECT certification
