    Profile

I've worked across the continuum of care, from case management and assessment roles in community mental health to inter-disciplinary care teams at the hospital, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient levels of care as well as in the college counseling center environment.

I have done this strategically, to understand how clients currently being seen in a private practice environment may have encountered, or have fallen between the cracks of the current healthcare system.

I am passionate about the experience of women who find themselves in caregiving roles - professionally or personally - that are both deeply important to their sense of self and prohibit the full expression of a sense of self.

Think: adult children of immature parents, caregivers of aging parents, emerging adults navigating the premature loss of one parent, adult children of multi-generational family homes.

The issues I am well prepared to support: anticipatory loss, disenfranchised grief, symbolic grief, burnout related to personal and professional caregiving roles, and the military-to-civilian transition in women veterans.

While I do not see clients who are in an active phase of their eating disorder, I am well equipped to understand clients with a history of eating disorder treatment seeking to explore other, underlying dynamics after establishing a foundation in recovery.

I regularly take trainings in the areas of eating disorders, complex trauma, and grief. And am always seeking opportunities to incorporate creative-writing-based interventions in my work.
