Every person feels stuck, sad, anxious, or scared now and then. For some, these emotions can be blips in an otherwise happy and healthy day. For others, these feelings go to extremes and just won’t leave us alone, no matter what we try. Relationship conflicts, painful memories, or social interactions can leave us feeling drained, triggered, and raw. To make matters worse, when we’re at these low points it can feel impossible to reach out for help; maybe we don’t feel like we deserve help, or like nobody could help us if we did ask. Fortunately, reaching out can be the first step towards getting your life back.
Based on what is needed in the moment, I use tools like mindfulness skills, DBT skills, Mind-Body Bridging, ACT, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. My work is always trauma-informed, and I’m heavily influenced by attachment theory. I strive to make my practice feedback-informed, so that we can both learn what does and doesn’t work for you.
We all need safe relationships to heal; we can’t do it alone. I view therapy as a collaboration. We’ll work together to help you cope with life’s challenges and heal the core wounds that are still causing you pain today. I’m here to learn about you, listen to your story, and give you the tools you need to live the life you want.
