I enjoy working with clients from diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences. I value difference and find that the therapeutic relationship is a powerful space to connect around our shared humanity. I enjoy working with clients who want to understand themselves, examine their relationships, and identify the emotional, interpersonal, cognitive, and behavioral patterns that have kept them stuck. I am patient with the process of change - it is natural to have varying degrees of readiness for working on ourselves. I provide varying degrees of structure, depending on what each person needs.
I practice from an integrative theoretical orientation, with particular emphasis on interpersonal process, emotion-focused, CBT, ACT/mindfulness, and shame resilience theories. I value multiculturalism and social justice and incorporate mind/body/spirit in psychotherapy. I use evidenced based frameworks and interventions.
