If you find yourself at a place in your life where the next step is unknown or uncertain, I can offer you support, guidance and assistance in a safe, accepting environment. Whether you are experiencing depression, grief, anxiety, relationship difficulties or any other of life's struggles, I will help you explore underlying causes, develop insight and awareness and learn healthy strategies for coping with stress. I believe in the importance of understanding the whole person and working towards physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. I have 30 years of experience in multiple settings - in private practice since 2005.
In addition to a foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy, I have trained extensively in the areas of spiritually-oriented and mind/body therapeutic models. Mindfulness, meditation, self-compassion - these are skills that can help you tolerate difficult emotions, manage stress more effectively and relate to others more authentically.
I am co-founder of the Alabama Institute for Mindfulness. We offer the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction class and other workshops and retreats focused on teaching mindfulness and meditation as methods for developing inherent stress resilience and mitigating the devastating impact of stress on health.
