Recent Updates From James W.
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have provided a solution-oriented approach to individuals, couples, and families since 1983. My educational training and experience is unique in that I have worked simultaneously in a community mental health center as the Clinical Director/Assistant Executive Director and in private practice as a professional Christian counselor since 1983. My knowledge of psychological and spiritual issues has allowed me to integrate both disciplines. I am committed to meeting you at your point of need and helping you find practical solutions to resolve your problems.
I specialize in marriage (including pre-marital) and family counseling, but also treat mood and anxiety disorders, anger management, stress reduction, divorce issues, grief and loss, sexual addiction, substance abuse, domestic violence, spiritual direction, and trauma recovery. I also provide supervision to those seeking licensure in the state of Alabama.
As a Christian counselor, my approach to counseling involves a balance of grace and truth. I strive to provide a safe, caring, and supportive environment so that every client can discover effective solutions to their problems and begin to enjoy life more fully.
