I believe that the best answers to life’s challenges come from within. I believe that my role in a client’s life is to start from and help them to build on the strengths that they already have. Many people encounter challenges in their lives and I make it a point to recognize that asking for help comes from a place of strength, not weakness.
In a session with me unconditional positive regard is paramount. Client goals and objectives guide interventions and the client is an active participant in developing these goals and objectives. I like to make clients feel empowered and work from a strengths based, solution focused approach.
When working with me, I work to make clients feel heard. My primary purpose is not to just listen, but to hear. I believe that clients have many of the tools needed to improve their lives before they decide to seek treatment. When clients feel empowered in this way, they are encouraged to keep coming back.
