I am passionate about helping those who struggle with their mental health as a result of a chronic illness, specifically type 1 diabetes, whether newly diagnosed and needing help with the transition, or struggling with the burnout caused by managing an illness every day. My goal is to aid people in understanding, and eventually preventing, the ways that chronic illness negatively impacts their mental wellbeing and vice versa. I believe that empathy is the basis of the therapeutic relationship, and as someone who has had a chronic illness for over twenty years, I have not only clinical knowledge, but personal experience as well.
