Recent Updates From Tenaya Meaux
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024

Individual adults (18+) who are committed to self exploration, challenging past patterns, and growth tend to enjoy my approach. My practice focuses on adults with symptoms of depression and/or anxiety that may stem from: lack of identity development (who am I?); adjusting to life changes–such as, going to college, career challenges, coming out, partnering/divorce, death of a loved one, mid-life crisis, retirement, empty nest; relationship conflicts–work or personal; past trauma; poor attachment to childhood caregivers; or having a marginalized identity (such as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, immigrants).
Client-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based interventions I use most are: Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Solution-focused Therapy (SFT); Internal Family Systems; Grief/Loss Counseling; Expressive Arts; Identity Development; Empowerment; Psychoeducation; Empathetic Listening; Mindfulness & Distress Tolerance
In our work together, I will use humility, humor, and curiosity with my experiences as a gender-queer feminist, trauma survivor, and social justice and diversity advocate. I am not religious, but find my spirit is lifted by being present in nature and by playing music, eating good food, moving my body, gardening, painting, and spending time with loved ones.
