Alison Mayer (Ali) is a master’s level clinician at SpringSource Psychological Center, with her LCPC pending in 2023. Ali has spent the past four years working with adults and adolescents/pre-teens with eating disorders and their families. She is passionate about her work with this population and enjoys engaging the whole family system to promote change and recovery. Ali completed her undergraduate training at Michigan State University and received her MA at National Louis University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is currently working towards becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Professional.
Ali utilizes evidence-based theories, including ACT, CBT, DBT, EFFT and FBT, in her work with clients with mood, anxiety, and eating disorders. She has provided treatment at many levels of care including inpatient, residential, PHP, and IOP. Her most recent role was as a primary therapist at a large behavioral health treatment center.
Ali is actively involved in professional organizations; she is past president of The Counseling Association at National Louis University. She was recently appointed to the board of the Heartland Chapter of IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals.) She believes recovery is possible for anyone at any point in their lives.
