My specialization is trauma-specific and gender-informed treatment for female, femme and gender expansive experiences of trauma and dissociation, working with the spectrum of trauma-related disorders ranging from single incident PTSD to complex trauma and dissociative disorders. EMDR scaffolds my approach to treatment, along with extensive trainings in ego state therapy and sex therapy. My default setting is being authentic and this shows up in session as caring & creative, along with puns and a nerdy sense of humor.
The most significant overlap when integrating trauma and sex therapy treatments is CONSENT! And consent without boundaries, well, isn't consent. The most striking boundary in therapy is that in my role we are agreeing that I am functioning to serve your needs (still within a framework of shared consent, of course).
Please know that I will always (yep, always) be filtering your experiences through a lens of history: your history, intergenerational histories, the history of your intersecting identities, the history of systems in which we all live. We’ll be exploring meanings of these pasts to make sense of the present, all the while looking towards your future.
