Recent Updates From Christopher Sloane
Last updated | Monday February 17, 2025

We all have had times when we find ourselves contemplating our understanding of life and whether our life has progressed on the path that we had envisioned. We may be experiencing states of grief, self-doubt, and worry about ourselves, our relationships, or the condition of the world in general. It can often feel frustrating and overwhelming to accept this experience and we can find ourselves asking, "What did I ever do to deserve this; why me and why now?" These are often the scenarios when we require support and a new perspective with which to consider life's challenges.
My primary focus is the study and practice of trauma informed therapies. The Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) study has become central to my clinical work. My sessions include elements of psychoeducation regarding the effects of trauma and integrating Somatic Experiencing, auricular acupuncture, reflexology, Chi Kung and trauma sensitive yoga.
The research done by Vincent Fellitti, Bessel van der Kolk and others have shown that the somatic interventions are remarkably effective for treatment of trauma. These modalities combined with an empathic and compassionate setting allow me to provide the best possible care in support of the clients' needs and goals.
