Recent Updates From Sheryl J
Last updated | Tuesday February 18, 2025

I work with children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with learning challenges, ADHD, stressful family dynamics, depression, and anxiety. For many children and adolescents, there are struggles with behavioral and emotional regulation that are making life difficult for them and their families. Through dialogue and/or play, we develop innovative and creative strategies to help with self-regulation. For adult clients, through developing understanding of ADHD, depression and/or anxiety, I help clients make changes in their thoughts, feelings, and actions that lead to alleviation and reduction of symptoms.
Many people struggle in school and/or at work due to learning difficulties such as ADHD, learning disabilities, and processing disorders. In therapy, we work on understanding the difficulties and improving supports, family communication, and coping strategies. Helping clients appreciate their strengths and capabilities is an integral part of treatment.
I utilize a collaborative approach to treatment that involves exploration of concerns, development of strategies and skills to manage or overcome difficulties, and ongoing assessment of therapeutic progress. Together we work on developing and enhancing strengths so that clients can make positive and lasting changes.
