Recent Updates From Susan Harder
Last updated | Tuesday February 18, 2025

Since graduating from Mount Mary University (Milwaukee, WI) with a Master of Science in Art Therapy, I have had the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, and adults in both inpatient and outpatient therapeutic settings. As one of South Dakota’s few registered art therapists (ATR), I am dually credentialed and prepared to address both mental health and chemical dependency issues. During sessions, I offer each individual the opportunity to engage in therapeutic discussion, meaningful art making, or both.
For me, the most rewarding parts of therapy are: guiding individuals through difficult emotions and experiences, discovering hidden creativity, and exploring how change can be possible. Throughout my 10+ years of experience in the mental health care field, I have seen how seeking support can be a dynamic and inspirational experience.
As a part of my professional practice, I create a sensitive and safe environment for clients to be themselves, and share their story without judgement. Together, clients and I explore mental and physical health, spirituality, motivation, and personal environment to create a lifestyle balance that is both achievable and sustainable.
