Recent Updates From Josh Larson
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024

I am passionate about helping individuals re-discover their ideal selves. I believe strongly that life doesn’t not necessarily equip us with all of the tools to be well-adjusted, well-functioning adults, and that everyone can use support to help navigate life’s challenges. The clients I tend to see usually present with a wide variety of issues, including, but not limited to: depression, anxiety, substance use disorders and process addictions, trauma/PTSD, relational distress, LGBTQI and minority/marginalized-population issues, life transitions, self-esteem/self-control issues, and aging/older adults.
Research shows that >70% of the benefit clients get from counseling is dependent on the strength of the relationship with their therapist; I keep this in mind at all times. My primary modality is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, but I also draw from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness practices, Motivational Interviewing, and strength-based counseling.
I offer a highly empathic, non-judgmental counseling style to help people process the inherent complexities of life. Most clients say they feel immediately at-ease from the first interaction, that I offer them clarity, direction, and hope as well as challenge them to think about themselves and others from new perspectives.
