I have worked with a broad range of clients with different mental health concerns. I enjoy helping those that feel they are stuck in how they think and process the world by assisting them in learning coping skills to change the thought patterns that keep them cycling through all the negativity. I am someone that will listen, never judge, and give you an outside perspective on what is causing you distress. I desire to work with people who want to change their mindset and are willing to try new things while understanding that healing takes time.
I primarily use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy(CBT) and Motivational interviewing in my treatment. The primary purpose of CBT treatment is that success in therapy results from identifying and changing negative thoughts and/or beliefs that could be resulting in negative behaviors. The goal is to help you rewire your thought patterns from negative to positive.
Starting therapy is not always easy and is often scary and nerve-wracking when you have never spoken to anyone about your issues and worry that if you did, they might judge you negatively for it. My goal is to help my clients feel accepted and safe.
