Recent Updates From Maggie Morris
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
Hi there! I am a mental health counselor specializing in anxiety, depression, stress, gender and sexuality, relationship challenges, and life transitions. In my practicum and internship experiences, I worked with a variety of populations including adolescents, older adults, LGBTQ+ individuals, single mothers, university students, and more. Working with these groups, I've witnessed firsthand the resilience of clients in all manner of environments and situations. As a result, I have a passionate belief in the human ability to adapt and rise to overcome whatever obstacles stand in the way of living happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
I offer a person-centered counseling approach centering on client strengths, while also using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques to help clients meet their goals. Family systems and feminist theories also drive my work as a counselor, as they aid in understanding how each person functions in family and societal contexts.
No matter your unique situation or background, my goal is to provide a nonjudgmental, supportive, and affirming counseling environment where you can feel safe to explore, make mistakes, heal, and grow. Ultimately my aim is to help you uncover your strengths, walking alongside you as you take steps toward self-discovery and change.
