Recent Updates From Megan Feeley
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
Almost everyone can benefit from counseling! Whether you're looking to sort through challenging emotions or experiences, improve your relationships, explore areas for personal growth, or develop skills to cope with stress, it helps to talk with someone whose only goal is to empathetically support you in making the change(s) you seek. Those who have experienced trauma often have difficulty regulating their emotions, building meaningful relationships, and coping with stress, and they tend to find that substances like alcohol and other drugs make hard things easier. These are not character flaws; this is reasonable response to trauma.
As a counselor, I recognize the external forces that contribute to mental health challenges. My goal is to empower people to connect with themselves and others to improve their inner and outer worlds. I have lived experienced with family dysfunction, c-PTSD, and addiction/ recovery, and as a Navy brat I'm familiar with and respectful of military culture.
Most people enter counseling with a desire for change. This is a collaborative process between counselor and client. You are the expert on yourself and your life. I am the expert at helping you draw on your own intrinsic strengths to support you in making changes, and at empathetically holding you accountable for meeting your goals.
