This work is meaningful to me because I get to walk alongside people breaking free of painful patterns and moving towards feeling comfortable with life and themselves. As a counselor I have extensive experience in working with people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic pain and addictions. I utilize mindfulness-based approaches to help clients cultivate mind-body awareness and create emotional well-being. Getting to underlying issues of shame, loss of control and grief changes lives. When therapy works, there's more than just insight; people feel it in their body as well as in their mind.

My primary training has been in DBT, one of the most evidence-based practices with research showing effectiveness at helping people skillfully manage emotions. I also have advanced training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), research-proven strategies for overcoming the symptoms related to trauma.
I value scientific research and popular culture, this means my talk therapy incorporates research-proven assessments and questionnaires, as well as timely resources like audio guides, books and current movies or articles to assist my clients in their change process.
