Recent Updates From Sunnie Lumpkin

Participating in therapy takes courage. Looking at ourselves doesn't always come naturally, and as a result, we have parts of us that are terrified of what we might find. Quite the opposite has been my experience, in that, learning about ourselves is what sets us free from being stuck in a life we are unhappy with. While our old programming discourages us from looking at our vulnerabilities, the modern world we live in today demands that we take a deeper look at our unconscious patterns.
I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker, practicing in the Cincinnati, Ohio region. I have worked in the field of mental health since graduating from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002. During this time, I gained experience working with diverse populations in a multitude of settings.
My theoretical approach includes a variety of treatment modalities, including Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. I am particularly interested in guiding people toward their authentic selves. My practice values promoting autonomy, and self-discovery by looking into unconscious behaviors.
