Do you find yourself struggling to communicate your feelings in an authentic way to those around you? Is setting boundaries in relationships (and sticking to them) a challenge for you? Relationships are an integral part of our lives—whether they be with colleagues at work, a partner or spouse, close friends, or our children—and maintaining these relationships takes work! Taking some time to focus on yourself and your relationships can have a tremendous impact on your mental health and overall wellbeing. The belief that every person can foster meaningful changes in their lives is central to my personal philosophy of change.
I approach therapy as a strengths-based, collaborative process geared towards the facilitation of change, true emotional expression, and resilience. Whether working with individuals, couples, or families, I strive to understand each person’s unique life story and to build trust in exploring and meeting the needs of whomever is sitting with me.
My philosophy of change recognizes the systems of oppression and trauma that exist around us and acknowledges the harm that has been enacted and perpetrated against LGBTQIA and BIPOC individuals and their families in the psychotherapy space. My priority in session is to create an open and safe space, which I believe is necessary in the process of healing.
