My approach to individual and family counseling is rooted in a compilation of family of origin, family systems, cognitive behavioral, collaborative problem solving, solution focused and narrative theories. He earned a bachelor's degree from Graceland College in 1998, studying Sociology and Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree from Portland State University in 2006 studying Counseling. Eric is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. He has extensive training and experience in providing child and family therapy.
Keeping a client-centered focus, I help children, adults & families build skills to solve or cope with their current & future challenges. I have worked in schools and homes with children K-12 & their families for 12 years. I have as a private counselor since 2011. I am versed in Special Education and Section 504 law, process, rights and requirements.
Counseling should assist on the journey toward self-understanding and healing...understanding patterns of behavior, what purpose they serve and if one still desires to keep them. My goal is to assist people in setting and meeting their own goals, beginning where they are at. Please call with any questions.
