Recent Updates From Amy Tucker
Last updated | Tuesday February 18, 2025

I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, which is an evidenced-based counseling style with a person-centered approach that is collaborative and goal-oriented focused on change talk. It is designed to strengthen personal motivation for and commitment to a specific goal by eliciting and exploring reasons for change in an atmosphere of compassion and acceptance honoring a person's autonomy, resourcefulness, and ability to choose.
I am a RYT200 (Registered Yoga Teacher since 2020), and I incorporate mindfulness, deep breathing, and relaxation in my own practice and with patients to manage stress and anxiety, and improve psychological functioning.
I strive for "peace in the moment" and practicing yoga, breathing, and meditation over the past few years has helped me develop tools to do that. I have worked as a counselor for 20 years and encounter youth and adults who suffer from mood disorders, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, separation anxiety, grief, and trauma.
