Recent Updates From Jessica Carroll
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
A graduate of Capella University’s Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, I am now a Resident working toward state licensure for LPC, with 14 years experience working in the counseling field. This includes working in a group home for children with an array of behavioral diagnoses. I also have worked with adolescents with substance abuse concerns. I am familiar with depression, anxiety, PTSD, & ADHD. I recently completed an internship conducting individual sessions and group therapy (adult & adolescent) I work well with a diverse client population, as well as multiple mental health disorders.
I work from an integrative approach using Solution Focused and Positive Psychology view, but have experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, Psych-educational, and Reality Therapy. The client/therapist relationship is essential to achieve an effective goal-oriented plan.
By facing my own life challenges, this has allowed me to be more empathetic toward others. Since the client is an expert in their own life, by focusing on a client's strengths, the goal would be to become empowered with confidence to achieve their treatment goals with success, and gain personal growth.
