You expect a lot of yourself, and when you struggle to keep up, you feel guilty and your inner critic pulls out the megaphone. Even when you have some time to relax, you find yourself focusing on all the other shit you "should" be doing and suddenly your afternoon off has turned from relaxing to internally chaotic. You want to be able to be more present with friends, family and yourself, and you want your inner critic to quiet down and take a day off (or two!) I offer traditional "talk therapy" as well as Brainspotting, which is a bottom-up approach to treating trauma, performance anxiety, and other concerns.
My approach is individualized based on your needs and goals. We may focus on identifying your core values, taking the power away from unhelpful thoughts and feelings, and processing trauma and challenging past experiences that are impacting your life in the present. I am trained in ACT and Brainspotting and I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming counselor.
