Life is a journey in which we learn from our past, live for today, and hope for tomorrow. As a therapist I strive to provide you, your child, and/or family quality service in order to help you achieve your goals in life. I will work with you in a way that builds on your strengths and potential, and challenges you to take your life to the next level. I believe the most productive therapy environment is one of mutual trust, respect, and collaboration. My approach is challenging and direct, yet compassionate and caring.
I have worked in the field of public education for the last 30 years as a secondary school counselor. I bring to the therapeutic environment experience working with adolescents, their families, and the issues that arise in today's schools.
In my practice, I have used the assessments and techniques of Schema Therapy. These assessments allows us to look at what is called a life trap. This life trap repeats itself throughout life affecting relationships at home and work. Awareness then allows a person to develop a new approach to life.
