Recent Updates From Sara Najm

I am a firm believer in the power of relationships, to both hurt and heal. In my work with clients, I let the idea harms inflicted through relationships must be healed through relationships guide my approach. If we work together, expect me to be genuine, direct, and caring. I use empathy, humor, and curiosity to provide a feeling of safety and a secure base for clients to explore. I have experience with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders and specialize in the areas of: anxiety, life transitions (especially menopause/perimenopause), parenting, and addiction (those who struggle with addiction and their loved ones).

I use motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and an existential framework to elicit clients’ goals and priorities. I understand my role as a privilege and a guide; I help clients discover insights into their lived experiences, uncover core beliefs, and determine priorities for the lives they deserve to create.
I hope my clients feel challenged to see things in new ways and reimagine the way they think about themselves, others, and the world. Honoring diversity and recognizing my own blind spots and biases is extremely important to me, privacy and safety are prime concerns.
