Recent Updates From Dawn White
Last updated | Thursday March 27, 2025

As an LPC, I work with individuals, couples and families to address their areas of distress and concern using primarily cognitive-behavioral therapy, emotionally focused therapy, psychotherapy, and employing art and play therapy techniques. It is a great honor and privilege to be trusted to work with individuals, couples and families to help restore a healthy balance and to begin to help people transform their lives into feeling a greater sense of purpose and productivity. I provide programs for community groups on anxiety/depression, parenting, and grief/loss. Areas of specialization include women's issues, children, adolescents, couples and families.
One area of specialty is Play Therapy. Play therapy is an approach specifically developed to help children. A play therapist works with a child to explore and resolve problems through the therapeutic use of play, encouraging the safe expression of feelings and also support the development of healthier behaviors.
I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy. This model uses the attachment theory to approach the negative cycle, and to guide couples into resolving issues by focusing on their emotions. Research shows that 70-75% of couples move from high levels of distress to recovery and approximately 90% show significant improvements.
