Recent Updates From Amy Phillips
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024
I am flexible to accommodate most schedules. I believe everyone can benefit from therapy; at its core, therapy is about building a relationship in which we feel safe to embrace and become our authentic selves. I enjoy working with people to explore life experiences and identify past trauma that may be preventing them from living their best life. I am passionate about issues surrounding individual freedoms, specifically relating to gender/sexuality. As a queer professional, I enjoy working with clients who identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or who practice nontraditional relationships, including polyamory and kink.
I have experience working with complex trauma, shame, depression, suicidality, self-harm, anxiety, and grief. I am happy to work with my clients individually, as couples, as families, or in groups. I have training in EMDR, TF-CBT, Trauma & Attachment, CAMS, ACT for PTSD, DBT, and Grief Counseling.
We are all works in progress and benefit from support and compassion along the way. Therapy works when you feel safe, heard, and supported. I liken therapy to moving a refrigerator - could I do it alone? Sure, but it would be really freakin' hard. Having someone help carry the load, maneuver around obstacles, and set it into place, would make it much easier.
