Recent Updates From Brian Sharp
Last updated | Tuesday October 22, 2024
Many of my clients seek out my services after past attempts at therapy have proven to be unhelpful and end up finding relief within only a few short weeks. I often hear horror stories from clients about having been to multiple therapists, who "just listened" and "didn't really help" them to work through anything. As a therapist, I want to ultimately give you the tools you need to be able to work through stressful situations when they arise, rather than merely listening. Many have described my approach as "no-nonsense", "direct" and empowering. I know how tempting it might be to simply give up, but let's get you back on track.
Although I have worked with a wide range of clients and clinical problems throughout my career, I most often work with clients in couples therapy to improve their relationships, as well as in individual therapy for issues ranging from depression and anxiety to substance use and concerns related to sexual orientation and identity.
I know that making that initial phone call is a difficult thing to do, but don't give up just yet. Most of my clients tell me, after a fairly short amount of time working together, they no longer need my help; and this is my aim as a therapist - to give you the tools you need to fly solo. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you become the person you want to be.
You can learn more about me online. I am currently licensed to practice in the states of Texas, Florida & Connecticut. Additionally, I am an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and have completed Level 2 training in Gottman Method couples therapy. I am also a Certified Medium (Soul Sessions Academy, 2015) and Ordained Interfaith Minister (Universal Life Church, 2015).
