I am a graduate from Radford University earning a Bachelors Degree with a focus on social work. I received a Masters of Social Work from Radford in 2014 and began working toward being a LCSW. I received my LCSW in 2017 and have been working in outpatient therapy since. I have experience with anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, bipolar disorder, ADD/ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder, anger management, parenting issues, personality disorders, trauma, and grief. I work from a strength-based perspective with a client-centered style.
My current focus is on adolescents, adults, and the aging population. My primary approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-based therapies. I am a generalist practitioner, which means I have not chosen a speciality, so I am eclectic in my approach to therapy. I see my clients as individuals with individual experiences.
I live in Giles County with my husband of twenty-four years, and four wonderful dogs. I have worked with many adults, children, adolescents, and families throughout the New River Valley over my twenty years in the social work field. My primary approach utilizes cognitive and mindfulness-based strategies to assist clients meet their therapeutic goals.
