Recent Updates From Cyndia L
Last updated | Thursday October 10, 2024

I have been working with grief, both normal and complicated, for over 30 years and have specialized training in treating both. For those who are going through a normal albeit difficult time coping with the loss of a loved one, or if you are a caregiver for someone with a stressful illness (e.g., cancer, Alzheimer's), help is here. I also have extensive experience in treating the needs of the LGBTQ community and the issues typical for these clients. I strongly prefer to meet clients in person due to the type of interventions I utilize that are more effective this way. However, I do have limited availability for TeleHealth.

Grief is not only a reaction to death of a loved one. It can also mask itself within the loss of independence due to health and/or mental health challenges, or the changing of one's identity. While painful, grief and can also lead to positive change and newfound strength once you walk through it and can feel what's on the other side.
Therapy is a serious commitment that is not to be entered into lightly. If you are ready to "do the work", I am ready to help. It's especially important that you take this step for yourself, not just because others may have suggested you do so. If you feel ready to tolerate the ups and downs that good therapy provides, the hard work is truly worth it.
