I am a LCSW-R in New York I have been in practice for 30 plus years and bring the experience of mental health, addiction and spiritual wellness to those who come for counseling. I have worked with various populations in various venues such as Foster Care, day Treatment and Outpatient programs as well as Inpatient Psychiatric and Detox and Rehab for Substance Use Disorders. I am versed in spirituality which is different than religion and provide an opportunity for people to develop their own sense of spirituality. I also have a theological knowledge of how religion can have a positive or unhealthy impact on a person's self perception.
I work with individuals from 16 and up as well as families, couples and groups. My approach is to help a person through exploring their life to actualize their authentic self which often is buried under emotional baggage and emotional pain. The exploration of how and what has affective us emotionally and getting a understanding of its impact and changing our learned behavior to a more healthy behavior or understanding is the journey we will take. The modalities I offer are CBT, MI, Trauma Informed Care, Recovery, and Mindfulness.
