My aim is to support people through their therapeutic goals by providing trauma-informed, person-centered care. I believe people are the experts on themselves, and thus, I believe it is fundamental for people's own defined goals to be central to the therapeutic process. I believe that all people face challenges in life, and many of those challenges leave us in need of extra support. Through mental health counseling, people can begin the process of healing, empowerment, confidence, connection, strength, and belonging.

I see children ages 3-18. My background as a school counselor (9 years) and high school teacher (10 years) exposed me a broad range of experiences with children and adolescents. I realized that children and adolescents don’t sit and talk like adults do. They need more age appropriate and creative approaches. This is the reason that I pursued training in play therapy and the school-based registered play therapy credential. Currently, I am a professor in counselor education, and I see clients part-time. It is my goal to bring help, understanding, and hope to children, adolescents, and families in the Shoals area. View 7 Photos I currently only accept private pay. Utilizing private pay for counseling has advantages that insurance does not. With private pay, clients do not have to meet a deductible on top of having to pay a co-pay. Utilizing private pay is also beneficial because it increases confidentiality due to not having to submit paperwork to an insurance company. I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in the state of Alabama under the supervision of Sarah Cabler, LPC-S.
