All of us, at one time or another, need a little guidance in navigating life. I work with children, adolescents, and adults with anxiety, depression, addiction, stress, and everyday life issues. Ships don't sink because of the water around them; ships sink because of the water that gets in them. For clients who I have the privilege to walk along in their journey of healing, they come broken down with life concerns involving depression, anxiety, substance abuse, self-esteem, body image, suicidial ideation, anger management, self-harm, parenting skills, grief and loss, and physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and neglect. My ultimate goal is to help you refocus on your inner strengths, to refind your passion, to help you rebuild courage to take steps forward in what is holding you back. Who you are matters. You are worthy and enough. I believe that many people experience unfortunate events associated with trauma constructing their view of reality through the stories they tell themselves and then believe regarding the stressful incident. I focus on helping individuals refine personal strengths and abilities in overcoming irrational/unhealthy thoughts; Find a healthy sense of belonging Deciding to contact a therapist can be difficult and often intimidating, especially opening up about difficulties you face within your life story. Crying is okay. Emotions are okay. It is okay to feel. If you do not like where you are mentally, spiritually, or emotionally then you do not have to stay in that place of misery or despair. When a bone is broken or a ligament is torn, we seek medical support for physical healing. When feeling overwhelmed in a heartless world, lonely in a room full of people, struggling to sleep due to dreams of unforgettable events, or avoiding smells, sounds, or places because it forces you to relive dreaded moments. In those moments who do you find for support? With support, you will find inner peace, strength, and a better version of yourself. I am a mental health professional certified in TF-CBT, trained in Internal Family Systems, Grief Informed therapy, and Anger management. I commonly use mindfulness exercises, behavioral therapy, humanistic therapy, solution-focused therapy, and role-playing. I pride myself on meeting you where you are and sitting in moments of uncertainty. Going into a room and sharing unpleasant feelings, triggers, and unforgettable memories can be scary, but the other side of going through the work of therapy can lead to mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. You do not have to be a prisoner of your mind.
