English  |  español Is your child struggling at home, school, or friendships? Does anxiety, anger, tantrums, or sadness seem to disable them? Whether it is huge outbursts of emotions, being overly quiet or shut down, I equip kids & parents to overcome hurdles & live with more confidence. A child's behavior is their way of communicating with you. Together we can work on understanding what your child is "saying". Getting help for your child shows how much you care for them! I'm a bilingual psychotherapist (English-Spanish) with over a decade of experience working with children, teens, & families. View 5 Photos I use evidenced-based approaches to help address problems that can be overwhelming. Attachment-Focused EMDR & play therapy uses the language of children to resolve underlying attachment/safety issues, increase emotional self-regulation, improve quality of relationships, & help children overcome difficult life experiences that seem to be getting in the way. I also provide psychosocial evaluations, in both Spanish and English, for immigration. Evaluations include extreme hardship (I-601 & I601-A), Cancellation of Removal, VAWA & Spousal Abuse, U-Visas, Asylum, Withholding of Removal, and Convention Against Torture. Addiction is not a problem to be fixed, but rather a person. I have worked with many people with various addictions and realize that addressing one problem from one perspective is not enough. I specialize in getting to know a person first and then helping that person heal from past hurts, learn skills for problem-solving, improve communication, build strong relationships, practice ways to manage strong emotions, learn to slow down and change their harmful or intrusive thoughts, draw from their faith for strength, develop strong support systems, and with all this, hope of long-term recovery can become reality. View 4 Photos I specialize in alcohol and substance addictions, as well as situations that lead to addictions, such as, chronic mental illness, PTSD, gambling, sex addiction, past trauma and abuse, chronic pain, and more. I'll teach you to manage the uncomfortable feelings rather than feeling the need to escape them. I have worked as psychologist, professor, and supervisor for over 18 years and am currently the CAO at Rhombus University, training students to become mental health therapists. I have facilitated conferences and trainings, am a CE provider, am the MFT Consortium Chair, and want to help you get from point A to point B.

Hi There! Thanks for visiting my profile. I don't need to tell you that I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist because I am sure you have already read that in the heading of my profile. What that heading doesn't say is that I am a wife and a mom and I completely understand the rewards and challenges we face daily in both those roles. While I do work with various populations, it is my role as a wife and a mom that have lead me to specialize in working with children and families in various capacities. . Children experience a lot of social and emotional changes as they matriculate through the developmental stages. Those changes can be difficult to navigate, not only for the tween or teen, but also for the parents. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone help navigate through those murky waters? I am invested in building up our community by strengthening families through solid therapeutic work. I also provide counseling to couples seeking assistance with various issues ranging from premarital counseling to intimacy issues. I also work with adult females on relationship struggles with themselves and/or others.
