Welcome to my practice. If you're perusing psychologytoday, life has either taken a turn for the worse or you're ready for growth. Whatever is going on, my 20+ years of experience working with adults from across the globe may be helpful. Through our work, my clients have successfully navigated symptoms, grown and built meaningful, authentic lives. I use evidence based practices to create a space for increased insight, learning, awareness, emotional processing and active engagement. If you're burned out, struggle with mood or medical issues, PTSD, dependence and/or relationship problems, having a trained set of eyes can help. Starting from that place of stuck/hurt, together, we'll help you navigate your feelings, try on multiple perspectives and make wise yet flexible life affirming choices. I use culturally informed CBT or ACT depending on your working preference and PCT for PTSD/trauma. Skill acquisition and relational work is inherent in this process. Overcoming avoidance to deal with life's ailment is usually helped by a kind, safe, validating and guided relationship. If the time has come for healing & realignment, I invite you get in touch. We can spend some time checking to see our connection, and if it feels like a good fit, begin the work ahead.

Working with individuals who feel they need some extra support to tackle challenges that life throws at them is my passion. I believe that through the relationship and work between client and therapist, behaviors can be adjusted, relationships can be mended, unhealthy coping skills can be identified and reworked, and healthy change can occur. I create a safe, comfortable therapeutic environment where individuals can succeed in making positive growth in their lives. Taking a straightforward, honest, relaxed and empathetic approach to supporting clients frees clients to open up, discover their strengths and make the most of therapy. My specialty is working with anxiety, depression, bipolar, self-harm, substance use, suicidal ideation and relationship issues. I also have experience as part of an eating disorders team. As a therapist and program director for CASSY I have extensive experience with the diverse struggles of individuals across Santa Clara County. Growing up and spending the majority of my life in Silicon Valley allows me intimate familiarity with the struggles unique to this growing and changing population. I know the pressures these people are facing and can impart the skills to help people cope effectively with the challenges. Come see me if you feel like it's time to make a change in your life

English | español When the impact of mental health becomes too much, because that’s what happens to humans, we can start to feel overwhelmed and naturally our mind and body finds ways to cope. Sometimes the coping mechanisms people try don't always work. Healing is a journey, and there is no "right" way to do it. It's important to listen to your body, seek support and trust that you have the resilience and strength to make it through even the hardest moments. You don't have to have a mental illness to prioritize your mental health. Everyone can benefit from taking care of their emotional wellbeing. View 3 Photos I bring a calm and inviting presence to my sessions and maintain a space where people can openly share their feelings. I work with children, adolescents and adults and specialize in depression, anxiety, trauma, behavior support and the latino/a experience. In my work, when people feel safe beyond just the physical space, they are willing to open up more. People often know they're experiencing struggle but sometimes they don’t know why. As a result, the wish to find resolve and resilience clashes with the expectations of our day-to-day life. This can make it hard to find a way to start therapy but when people give themselves permission to reach out, they can often see that they are capable to do hard things.

I enjoy working with adults of all ages to address anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and provide compassionate guidance while navigating personal challenges. I view therapy as a collaborative process that offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into your internal and external worlds, relationships, and address your aspirations and goals. My therapeutic approach is warm, supportive, creative, and engaging. I utilize a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches and will combine them to best meet your needs and goals. Some of these approaches include mindfulness-based therapies and stress reduction, cognitive behavioral interventions, motivational interviewing, and EMDR. Research shows that much of the progress made in psychotherapy occurs when you feel a positive connection with your therapist. I offer complimentary phone consultations to explore working together and to answer any questions regarding what your therapy would look like. I look forward to speaking with you.

Most of us, if not all of us, come to a point in life where we need to regain our balance and redefine our goals. I know so because I have seen my clients, friends, and myself in such situations. By working together with you, I can help you to focus, mobilize your inner strength and establish new strategies to overcome problems that have become apparent. Topics that I handle (but I am not restricted to) are grief and trauma coping, relationship or family issues, anger management, and cultural or generational conflicts. Our goal will be to define the issue, adjust, become effective again and re-discover satisfaction in life. Based on my ample work experience I feel comfortable working with adults or with children using conservative talking therapy as well as more creative approaches such as art or play therapy. I also offer newer approaches such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a form of therapy developed to help the individual cope with disturbing and unresolved life experiences and traumas. Please contact me for any question. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

A client should feel empowered to express their current symptoms, needs and goals. A person's identity is not defined by a clinical diagnosis and subsequent treatment plan. An ideal client comes with some awareness and willingness to expose vulnerability and work toward their goals. At first, that task can be frightening and daunting. A client must be courageous and vigilant in the pursuit of their goals and on the path to healing. They do not walk that path alone, but lean on the support of a trustworthy, experienced and professional therapist that lights up a path. View 5 Photos I am a licensed therapist (LCSW101736) that has been serving individuals and families in various capacities since 2011. My experience ranges from community-based mental health organizations to private practice and substance use treatment. I have an eclectic approach to services combining various evidence based practices through a holistic approach. It takes courage to reach out and expose vulnerability regarding personal matters. Having an experienced clinician that has lived through pain and learned to heal those wounds in himself and others makes unpacking or thoughts and feelings that much easier. I create a safe, non-judgmental environment that makes the process easier.
