Please e-mail, to be placed on waitlist. After 15 years working with community-based, non-profit agencies in multiple roles as well as about 20 years working with vulnerable youth, I am happily dedicated to private practice care. My practice is centered around whole-person treatment. Together, we will explore root causes to your symptoms, the narrative of your family system, process old trauma and develop healthy coping skills to manage your symptoms. Trauma, OCD, Generalized Anxiety and Codependency Treatment, are my primary specialties, and I look forward to learning about and helping you identify your unique goals for therapy. I find that Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or Trauma-Focused CBT as well as Short-term, Solution Focused Therapy, are efficient in the goal-setting process for most clients. I also use Narrative Therapy and Depression Treatment Quality Improvement (DTQI) methods to support reducing Depression. Treatment is not one-size fits all. My approach is to hold empathy, compassion and work from the stance that everyone can grow into the person they want to be. I do my best to be real and infuse humor in my style of therapy. I believe in humility and appropriate self-disclosure, but the focus is always on you! If you would like a free-consult, please e-mail for the fastest response!

If we have learned anything from the pandemic, it is that we all need and thrive in relationships. Therapy is an important tool for developing and nurturing positive relationships, both with others and with yourself. Using my training as a marriage and family therapist, my life experiences and love of people, I foster a safe, warm, non-judgmental environment. Collaboratively we can build resiliency as we discover and heal the obstacles that interfere with you having a deeper, more meaningful life. I enjoy working with both couples and individuals who are grappling with a variety of life challenges; life changes, including health issues, career goals, trauma, loss, anxiety or mood disorders. As each individual is unique, I use an integrative approach to best fit each couple or individual. My style is direct and supportive and focuses on your strengths. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process. Authenticity and trust are the foundation of that process, so it's important to find someone you feel comfortable working with. Uncovering your inner strength and actuating your emotional intelligence begins with exploration of the psychic house you live in. I help people with anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma, racial and gender anxiety, substance abuse, and career transition. In addition to training, I bring the perspective of someone who has dealt with many of these challenges in my own life. I also have a three-decade background working with the creative community that has attuned me to the unique obstacles faced by artists. Please feel free contact me anytime. I look forward to answering any questions you may have about the way I work or therapy in general. Don’t worry about pronouncing my last name properly.

A person usually comes to therapy because they find themselves stuck in some way; perhaps an emotion that keeps surfacing, an addiction, or finding themselves in the same type of relationship or conflict over and over. Tired of same painful repetitions, yet unsure what to do to create change. I see my role as a therapist as assisting you in figuring out what’s getting in your way from making the changes you’d like to see. I facilitate a process through which you can create a more interconnected understanding of the different parts of your life and self. Such explorations can have a big impact on how a person feels and promote new ways of being in the world. What does this look like? A conversation. A space where you can talk about anything you'd like. We'll identify themes, patterns and experiences that are tied to the issues you’d like to work on, noticing the many—often surprising—places their effects show up and can covertly guide your day-to-day life.

My approach in therapy is to build a connection with you to be able to uncover a deeper sense of awareness, challenge core beliefs from childhood/adulthood, and motivate you to work towards healing. I challenge my clients to create goals that will have a meaningful and positive impact in their lives. Although therapy can sometimes be short lived, I want to be able to provide you with the tools necessary that will allow you to manage your symptoms (I.e., anxiety, depression, ADHD, a mood disorder, trauma, substance use issues, adjusting to a new chapter in your life, relationship issues), and increase a more joyful life. My goal is to assist people in filling that gap of uncertainty and increase their self-awareness. I have worked with a variety of people from different backgrounds, ages, ethnicity, race, gender, etc. to better serve my clients. I have made it my goal to dedicate my time to get to know you and ensure that your needs are being met using my skill set. As a bilingual, Latinx male, my skillset and experience allows me to to take a broader view and identify how external factors can play a role in impacting our mood and behaviors. That is why I invite you to a welcoming, non-judgmental space where I can assist you in breaking down those barriers that may be preventing you from being your best self.

As a practitioner of Emotional Transformation Therapy (ETT), I specialize in helping people heal from trauma, depression, and anxiety. I assist clients in a process of deep self-discovery using ETT, psychotherapy, and movement. ETT can help clients to heal more effectively from long-standing and painful patterns than traditional talk therapies alone. I treat a wide variety of conditions that prevent people from living an optimum life. My ideal client is committed to change, may have been in prior therapy that has not yet shifted fundamental maladaptive patterns, and open to new ways of thinking and feeling about themselves. ETT utilizes RGB light and the entire color spectrum to heal states of deep emotional distress. ETT and the Resilience Toolkit can provide immediate and lasting relief from distress. ETT gives the client the opportunity to develop new ways of processing emotions and forming healthy attachments. ETT is also very effective with dream work. I am also a certified facilitator of The Resilience Toolkit and Tension Releasing Exercises. Both are movement and mindfulness based techniques designed to build capacity and emotional well-being. I have twelve years of experience working with childhood trauma in residential, community-based, and private practice settings. I look forward to working with you.

The word "metamorphosis" refers to the process of transformation, a transformation of both mind and spirit that can lead to positive and often dramatic changes in one’s life. Here at metamorphis-therapy, it is my belief that the relationship that develops between client and therapist is the foundation on which all else is built. My genuine empathy and compassion, combined with my intuitive and nurturing approach, create the safe space for us to uncover blockages and heal past wounds or traumas, thus allowing individuals to flourish. Although I work with a variety of issues, some of my areas of expertise include: Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Parenting/Family Issues, Bereavement, Maternal Mental Health, Self Esteem/Assertiveness, Body Image, Life Transitions, and Sexuality. Very often taking the first step to seek out therapy can be both the hardest and the scariest part, but it is my desire to make the process as comfortable for you as possible. I encourage you to utilize the complimentary introduction phone session. Sometimes just hearing a caring voice on the other end of the phone can make all the difference.
