The therapeutic relationship has the potential to provide healing and support while offering a hopeful perspective to navigate difficulties and hurtful circumstances. I want to be invited into my clients' lives--to be given the privilege to experience their dreams and fears, joys and sorrows, triumphs and disappointments. I strive to provide a welcoming space for people to explore and make meaning of their relationships and experiences. Clients are given the freedom and safety to change themselves and their outlooks. I am trained in EMDR and feel comfortable working with clients with histories of abuse through a trauma lens. My professional experiences surround women's issues and relational difficulties. I have interest and training in assisting clients and their partners explore the whole self: sexual health, physical and emotional intimacy, and overall well being. I use a team approach to mental wellness, especially in supporting clients who struggle with eating disorders. My personal journey has led me to have a unique perspective in supporting clients, especially through the difficult transitions of faith difficulties/faith loss, divorce, co-parenting, and step-families. I have a compassionate ability to support survivors in rewriting their narratives and exploring healing techniques.

When we grow up in dysfunctional families, we often learn skills to deal with difficult situations that were helpful in the past but that no longer serve us, like shutting down or exploding when you're upset, conflict avoidance, having trouble asking for what you want or need, people-pleasing, perfectionism, numbing with phone scrolling or substances each night - the list goes on. My ideal clients are adults who have had challenging life experiences and who are hoping to gain insight into how their pasts are impacting them in the present. I help clients to address harmful behaviors, heal from trauma, and create a beautiful life. I am warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental in my work with clients. Through a psychodynamic, attachment-based lens, I help clients process and move forward from early experiences of abuse or neglect, instability, or living with parents who had a hard time controlling their emotions or moods. I am trained in EMDR therapy and incorporate this when appropriate I'm not a therapist who will stare at you silently and nod occasionally; I'll be getting in there with you, talking about anything you need to (I've heard it all!) from work & relationships to sex and strange bodily functions. Some of our work will feel serious, but we'll also laugh a lot. I hope to create a safe space where you can put it all on the table.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance. No matter what our difficulties are in the past and present, it does not define who we are in the future. I am a lifelong learner who tries to instill the same passion in my clients as education is the key to unlocking our future. I strive to advocate for children as they learn to express their needs and desires. I use my background as a teacher, school counselor, and administrator to help facilitate the change necessary to unlock a better future. View 8 Photos I have experience with students as they experience pre-deployment, deployment, and post-deployment in group settings where they are able to build relationships and bonds with others experiencing the same situation. I have worked with youth as they have advocated their identity and then supported their needs as they have “come out” to their loved ones. I am committed in supporting the LGBTQ+ youth with organizations and members in the community where they could feel welcome and safe as they explore the world around them. I enjoy being outside, hunting, camping, playing with my dogs, traveling, and taking road trips. I love to learn and explore the history of the world around us!
