I have been working with grief, both normal and complicated, for over 30 years and have specialized training in treating both. For those who are going through a normal albeit difficult time coping with the loss of a loved one, or if you are a caregiver for someone with a stressful illness (e.g., cancer, Alzheimer's), help is here. I also have extensive experience in treating the needs of the LGBTQ community and the issues typical for these clients. I strongly prefer to meet clients in person due to the type of interventions I utilize that are more effective this way. However, I do have limited availability for TeleHealth. View 3 Photos Grief is not only a reaction to death of a loved one. It can also mask itself within the loss of independence due to health and/or mental health challenges, or the changing of one's identity. While painful, grief and can also lead to positive change and newfound strength once you walk through it and can feel what's on the other side. Therapy is a serious commitment that is not to be entered into lightly. If you are ready to "do the work", I am ready to help. It's especially important that you take this step for yourself, not just because others may have suggested you do so. If you feel ready to tolerate the ups and downs that good therapy provides, the hard work is truly worth it.

My ideal client is any individual, from teen to older adult, who is experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, spiritual or religious issues, feeling stuck in their life, having difficulty adjusting to life circumstances, and/or feeling unseen and unheard. He/she/they seeks to be heard with true acceptance, curiosity, and respect. He/she/they then seeks to work towards his/her/their goals in a collaborative relationship that draws upon my clinical expertise, but keeps him/her/they in the driver's seat. I can help by hearing and witnessing your story, and then by working with you to make you stronger and more able to live a life that feels truly aligned with your heart, mind, and spirit. I utilize an eclectic therapeutic style, and my main influences are Solution-Focused Therapy and Internal Family Systems. I also specialize in grief counseling and groups. It takes a great deal of courage to seek help. Doing so is already a big step in the right direction! I promise to help you feel comfortable and to work towards your goals at your pace.

I am passionate about providing education and empowerment around the mind-body connection. We learn to understand how the mind and body may be in survival mode and how a learned response may no longer serve us. Holding space allows for the body and mind to create space from imprinted thoughts & emotions in order to see choice in self-talk, belief systems, behaviors, and gain acceptance of ourselves. We learn how to rewire/rewrite our narrative through self-compassion. My goal is to empower individuals in recognizing their choices during moments when the body and mind are stuck in fear. Through trauma focused and chronic stress modalities, we process past and present stuck imprints to bring the body and mind back to a balanced state. I believe integrating the holistic and medical models for treatment as well as therapy being an active process. I am here to reflect and support while clients understand their needs and what is best for them. I believe laughter is a wonderful medicine while we sift through and unravel past conditioning. I refer out for sexual assault, DV, and court cases.
