I have been working with grief, both normal and complicated, for over 30 years and have specialized training in treating both. For those who are going through a normal albeit difficult time coping with the loss of a loved one, or if you are a caregiver for someone with a stressful illness (e.g., cancer, Alzheimer's), help is here. I also have extensive experience in treating the needs of the LGBTQ community and the issues typical for these clients. I strongly prefer to meet clients in person due to the type of interventions I utilize that are more effective this way. However, I do have limited availability for TeleHealth. View 3 Photos Grief is not only a reaction to death of a loved one. It can also mask itself within the loss of independence due to health and/or mental health challenges, or the changing of one's identity. While painful, grief and can also lead to positive change and newfound strength once you walk through it and can feel what's on the other side. Therapy is a serious commitment that is not to be entered into lightly. If you are ready to "do the work", I am ready to help. It's especially important that you take this step for yourself, not just because others may have suggested you do so. If you feel ready to tolerate the ups and downs that good therapy provides, the hard work is truly worth it.

Is it true that one can take steps to become healthier, happier and more productive in their lives? We often find that we get easily wrapped up in the hustle bustle of daily living, and we can tend to forget about ourselves while taking care of those around us. Perhaps, you have found that coping skills that were effective in the past, are no longer working, and have become problematic. Has addiction impacted your life in a profoundly negative way, or is sustaining long term sobriety difficult? We can begin a journey to more positive perspectives. This is an opportunity to take positive steps to gain more insight into thought patterns and their impact on your life. It is time to find that what may feel like the very thing that continues to hold you back, is the piece that generates growth and becomes a strength. It is most important for anyone undergoing the care of therapy to feel safe, and express themselves in a non judgmental and supportive environment. Perhaps someone to simply listen, an opportunity to practice healthy coping, challenge thinking, or belief systems. I encourage you to begin your journey to healing today.

My ideal client is a person who is open to letting go of self limiting stories, ready to become fully conscious of defenses that no longer serve them, and willing to imagine a different future with less day to day suffering and the belief in fulfilling dreams. When you call for help sometimes you know exactly what's wrong but more often it is a series of challenges and experiences that all add up to being "too much". Understanding the underlying cause of your unhappiness is the first step. We then , together, come up with a plan to change habits and behaviors to make conscious the patterns that no longer serve you My goal is to help people become fulfilled in their relationships and their job. It takes courage to venture into new ways of being . Opening doors to different ways of being is easier with a guide who can help strategize and teach methods to make real changes in behavior through understanding how you are thinking and feeling. It's a collaboration!
