Welcome to a safe place. My goal is to create a calm therapeutic environment, where each person can relax, feel supported and express whatever comes to mind. This is a judgment free zone, where no subject is off limits. I take a non-directive approach and allow you to be the boss. Whether you are wanting to learn about healthy boundaries, are open to understanding your emotional or physical distress and where your belief systems come from, we will work to help you reconnect with yourself, improve interpersonal relationships and enjoy your connection to the world around you. I use a variety of therapeutic treatments in my work with clients. Every person is different and thus, each session requires an individualized approach. I believe in mindfulness, mind-body connection, psychodynamic, internal family systems therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to support healing trauma, positive thought reframing and growth. I have a chronic illness, which has taught me that mental and physical health issues often go hand in hand. Any time you experience a physical sensation, it is accompanied by an emotion and vice versa. We will connect the dots between the body and mind to acknowledge the signals your body sends, build insight and support regulation.

Kids are AWESOME! But they struggle. That’s when they act out, or act in. Maybe you’ve been seeing it for years. Or they’re angry, frustrated, or disobedient all of a sudden. And if they’re harming themselves, you’re doubly scared. You can’t help but wonder what’s behind it all. You might be thinking that your child’s behavior is a reflection of your parenting. But your child’s fears and anxieties can come from any number of places: media, school experiences, traumatic events, family issues. It can even be inherited and we all know we can’t control our genes. View 5 Photos So, what can be done? There are many ways to intervene with children, and they are usually quite receptive. Our first session will help us warm up to each other. We’ll talk about the challenges you face, get your and your child’s perspective on what’s going on, and discuss your goals for therapy. We do expressive/play therapy and will have family sessions. Don’t wait! Children can change fast, so early intervention is key. Most of the time, within just a few sessions, my youngest clients report feeling better, their parents confirm that their behavior has changed, and what they were most worried about coming in turns out to be a short-term concern. You've found the help ... reach out and we'll get started!

Does life sometimes look different than you expected it to be? Do you wonder about your life purpose or what gives you value? Or question about where you fit in the world? Perhaps you might even be feeling more anxious about your future lately. We all wrestle with our identity and challenge our self-worth when difficult times emerge in our lives. Some of us struggle with depression, anxiety, grief, or life stage issues and need someone to walk with us and help us navigate during those times. I would love to journey with you through the ordinary and the extraordinary moments of your life. I weave the unique knowledge of theology and counseling into practice together when desired by the individual. I have worked with various populations, serving in both rural and urban settings as a therapist, crisis clinician, and pastor. I specialize in psychological and spiritual wellness by taking a holistic view of the person in the community. As a clinician in both Georgia & North Carolina, I offer in-person and video counseling services.
