My belief, self-care is paramount. It is my goal to assist in all areas of life, in order for you to feel balanced and motivated. I work with individuals 16yrs old through adulthood. Whether struggling at home, school, or work I see my role as assisting you and your important others to identify goals, reflect on barriers, and build resources through your own strengths as well as the supports around you. I have earned a certification in Perinatal Mental Health and Gottman Level I. I have personal interest in the Enneagram Types and find significant value in its use to raise insight on an individual and relational level. In addition to working with adults, my 19+ years working with children has granted significant experience with individual as well as family therapy. These opportunities have been with acute clients as well as those going through life transitions needing a little guidance. I value the importance of a systems approach that not only looks at the client but the many areas of their life. I believe in the importance of reflecting not only on client needs but the impact that comes from their surrounding environment (family, workplace, school, peer relationships, etc).

Making the decision to seek counseling can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process. It can be difficult to ask for help and know where to begin. It is my goal to help make this process a less frightening one and help you improve your life and personal well-being. Together we will identify the issues you would like to work on and determine a plan to help you reach your goals. Being able to help people experience hope and healing in their lives is a personal passion of mine. While I have worked with a variety of populations, addressing various concerns, I am especially interested in working with individuals on relationship issues, self-harming behaviors, self-esteem, and emotional intensity. I have been providing mental health counseling since 2001, and have been fortunate to work in various agency settings. I have extensive experience working with teens/ young adults, LGBT populations, and abuse survivors. I pride myself on being able to connect well with individuals who typically "do not like therapy. Congratulations, on taking the first steps on your healing journey. We don’t heal alone, and I’m humbled to stand side by side with those on this journey, to be a reliable presence of encouragement while taking the steps to heal emotionally and mentally. My greatest passion lies in assisting people to unlock the ability to live their most authentic lives, in a society that often doesn’t prioritize mental well-being. I take a systemic approach to mental health therapy and specialize in working with people of color and individuals with marginalized social identities. View 6 Photos I value collaboration highlighting the strengths you naturally bring to therapy through integrating body, mind, and culture. If you are experiencing depression or anxiety, I prioritize creating a space where people feel respected and safe to explore their life experiences. My practice is grounded in utilizing trauma informed, expressive art approaches and other modalities. As a qualified administer of the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), I see culture and self-awareness at the core of therapeutic growth. Please feel free to check out my website for more information. I look forward to working with you.
