Is your child or teen struggling with anxiety, depression, parental divorce, making friends, or challenges that come with an Autism Spectrum Disorder? Are you a young adult experiencing a life transition, relationship difficulties or grief and loss? If so, psychotherapy can help. My goal is not to provide strategies that simply lead to short term relief, but to work with you or your child to reduce symptoms quickly, while creating long-lasting change- a process that I believe only occurs in the context of a safe and trusting relationship. I am passionate about working with children, teens, parents and young adults, and approach therapy with curiosity, warmth, and patience. I ground my work in psychodynamic theory and neuropsychology, and am honored to take part in your journey towards healing, repair and relief. In addition to therapy, I have expertise conducting neuropsychological assessments, which are intended to answer complex questions related to ADHD, learning disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder and more. Testing will not only answer your questions, but provide you with thoughtful, individually-tailored recommendations about what to do next.

As a therapist who lives with ADHD, I understand and feel the challenges of life from the point of view of a neurodivergent individual. There are so many difficulties we face every day, and we are not born knowing how to use coping skills and tools to manage them. As a result, the path you’ve been on may be scary, but I want you to know that you are not alone! This is where I come in. I am a trauma-informed therapist that specializes in working with adolescents and adults who experience ADHD, trauma, PTSD, LGBTQIA+, domestic violence, and sexual assault, or are in need of crisis intervention. I am trained in EMDR, Brainspotting, Trauma-Focused-CBT, DBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. I use an eclectic approach to therapy since everyone is unique and what works for someone else may not work for you. You are the most important member of this treatment team! When you work with me, I will meet you where you are currently, and help guide you through the process of learning to use skills and tools you may already have but never learned how to use. My goal as your therapist is to validate. Together, we will discover new ways to tackle the difficulties you have experienced. I look forward to meeting you on journey.

Do you struggle in your relationships with those you care about? Do you find yourself getting really frustrated, even doubting yourself when talking to your family or friends? You may worry about being judged, and find it difficult to trust people. Struggling to cope can lead to feeling anxious, depressed, or even having panic attacks. When we feel overwhelmed, and frequently second guess what we do and say, it makes all of life's challenges so much harder. If you have grown up in a dysfunctional family, with an alcoholic, mentally ill, or abusive parent, it can leave you struggling to feel in control in relationships. Looking at how past situations and relationships impact how we view ourselves, and events in the present is helpful for making positive changes. Through interactive and insight-oriented therapy, I can help you understand your reactions, and seek alternatives to your negative thinking, and mistaken beliefs you have about your self and others. I provide coping strategies for you to address your anxiety, increase assertiveness and self-confidence. I'd like to help.

Starting on a course of healing takes courage, but it is one of the most rewarding things we can do for ourselves. We have all been hurt at different times, and those hurt parts of ourselves are very grateful when we give them some loving attention and start the healing process. We unconsciously create blocks to our own health, but we can also learn to gently release those blocks. We are actually hard-wired for loving ourselves, believe it or not, even those parts we don't like, are afraid of, or are embarrassed about, and that self-love is healing. Therapy is not an instant process, but is very worthwhile. Having received a tremendous amount of healing myself, I love helping others in that same process. I specialize in anxiety, grief, LGBTQ issues, and body-mind connection. My main form of therapy is Internal Family Systems Therapy, a psycho-spiritual method that is completely non-judgmental, kind, respectful, and effective. Also Emotional Freedom Technique. Once you decide to consider therapy, there is the process of choosing a therapist. It is important that there be a good fit between client and therapist. To help you decide that if there might be a fit, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can get a feel for me and ask all your questions.

As your therapist, I want to support you in creating greater satisfaction in your relationships with yourself and others. I'm a first-generation and multicultural therapist so topics related to culture and identity are important to my practice. In therapy, I cultivate a non-judgmental and supportive therapeutic space that allows us to explore the broadness of who you are, understand how you've come to develop your values and see how your strengths can bring you closer to the version of life you want to live in. I draw from strength-based and evidence-based therapeutic methods that believe we already have the tools needed for growth. Anxiety, self-esteem, identity, sexuality, and intimacy are among a few topics we work through. I specialize in working with pre-teen, teenaged, and emerging adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals. I'd love to be there for you along this journey of growth. Reach out and let's talk about it!
