Currently enrolling 12-week trauma group. I am an EMDR Certified Therapist who specializes in the treatment of trauma and dissociation. I believe that healing from trauma is possible (as opposed to just learning how to cope with post-traumatic symptoms). I consider therapy a collaborative, creative process. Clinically, I am warm, active, innovative and data-driven, using EMDR, clinical hypnosis, inner child work, ketamine assisted psychotherapy, TF-CBT, EFT, guided imagery, mindfulness, the Flash technique and polyvagal exercises. View 13 Photos I use many of these tools in my groups. While many consider suffering demeaning, I have found that after acknowledging the impact of hardship and completing proper grief work, we often emerge with great self-awareness and resiliency. This approach calls for a strong motivation to change and a willingness to practice new skills. I invite you to call or email me today if you're interested in online group therapy. (I do not currently have openings for individual sessions.) I see individual clients in person or online. My practice is in a relaxing, bright office in Andover, right off I-93, close to MA-28 & MA-125, and walking distance from the Ballardvale MBTA station.

From the outside you appear put together and accomplished, yet inside you don’t always feel that way. Sometimes you worry about things you can't control, create plans for the possible “what ifs” down the road, and wonder if others will discover that you don’t actually have it all figured out. You can’t calm your mind or find a healthy balance, and it’s getting in the way of your ambitions. You’ve tried managing on your own yet feel stuck. We can work together to harness your inner strengths while mending the parts that make life feel challenging. I believe we all grow and heal differently. Sometimes it's through exercise, music, quality time with loved ones or a tv marathon; and sometimes it's through the relationship created in therapy where your whole self can be seen without judgment or shame. I bring a relaxed, honest, and curious style, striving to make therapy comfortable and adaptive. I provide counseling to high achieving adults who are struggling with anxiety, life transitions, relationship dynamics, and those seeking an edge in sport/career performance. If you are adjusting to something new, discovering who you are, or motivated to make a meaningful change, let's dive in!

Everything we do serves a purpose for us at some point in time. However, our goals can change and sometimes our once-useful behaviors become ineffective or even harmful. I often describe dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) as “common sense therapy.” Using familiar concepts, DBT helps people recognize when their behaviors are no longer serving them and teaches how to replace them with skills to more effectively meet their needs/goals. I use my expertise in DBT and trauma-informed care to help people recognize unhealthy patterns and create positive change. Serving adults and children (3+) in NH & MA, I offer individual and family therapy, as well as DBT Skills Groups. DBT assumes that if your life is full of pain/suffering, it makes sense that you would try to cope however you know how. DBT helps people make lasting changes to build a life that they don’t need to escape from— a life that feels more worth living. My style is warm, humorous and direct; I will cheer you on while also challenging you to live your best life.

Embrace emerged from the desire that two mental health counselors had to offer more comprehensive care to people. They had their own private practice and worked on the mental health sector for years. They had a unique vision to better serve their community and decided to join forces to serve more people than they were able to on their own. In response to this call, they stepped out in faith to leave their private practice and community jobs to form Embrace Pathways to Wellness. All of our staff are selected because they believe in our vision and promote our mission and values. I believe we're all naturally inclined toward growth and success—each with our own strengths, desires, and goals that would lead us in the direction of contentment and happiness under optimal conditions. But we don’t live in a perfect world, and in an effort to adapt, we sometimes develop strategies that make sense in the short term, but aren't, in a lasting way, effective in moving us forward. We get stuck, leading to anxiety, frustration, and conflict, which leads in turn to us feeling bad about ourselves and our relationships. I view therapy as a collaboration between me and my clients, where we work together to understand the root causes of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that get in the way of being who you want to be and doing what you want to do. We clarify your goals, uncover and capitalize on existing strengths, and develop new ways of working through difficulties. My style is directive, supportive, honest, and compassionate, and my approach is integrative and flexible. This is your journey. We'll start wherever you are and go from there!

My therapeutic approach is grounded in the belief that people will do well when they can. The first step is getting to know you through the lens of empathy. It's my job to ask questions and work hard to get a sense of your experience, what it's like to stand in your shoes. Solutions and strategies are how we make the change. However, it can feel daunting and easier to just avoid. Accountability makes change. In my practice accountability means that you always have someone in your corner cheering you on, helping you identify small incremental actions and gently pushing you to follow through and create the change you are looking for. I have worked extensively with children and adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, school issues, family conflict, Autism, women's issues, healthy lifestyle and more. My practice is collaborative and individualized. We will work together to identify what's working, what's not and new ways to support the life you want. Whether you are struggling with anxiety or depression, relationship issues or general overwhelm, I am here to work alongside you. It is not easy to ask for support, but it is a brave first step toward creating a life you want. Together, we will get you on the path to hope and healing.
