Are you worried about your child? Do you feel at a loss as a parent? Is your relationship suffering? Does your family feel disconnected? Not sure what to do, where to turn? I work with kids in grades 1-5 who are struggling. Has your sweet loving 6 year old turned into a grumpy cranky brat, has your hard working focused 10 year old started not turning in homework, has your out going fun loving 8 year old stopped playing with friends and closed himself in his bedroom. Change is possible; together we can turn tough times into total triumphs. I am a trained play therapist and use nature in my clinical experience working with kids who are experiencing a parent's divorce, death of a loved one, abuse, ADHD, or school anxiety. When we connect with nature we feel calm, protected and engaged which is the perfect platform to build strength, resilience and compassion so children can thrive. Working with young children is very rewarding because they enjoy exploring and playing. They talk with me through their play and we are able to explore feelings in a fun non-threatening therapeutic way that leads to resolution. Parent involvement in the process is the key component for success.
